UAE Announces New 2023 Emiratisation Deadline

The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) said June 30 is the deadline for private sector companies with 50 employees or more to hit their six-month Emiratisation targets – set at 1 per cent of skilled jobs.

The authorities reminded non-compliant companies that they faced half-yearly fines of $11,435 (Dhs42,000) for every Emirati not hired. The announcement comes in line with the amendment of some of the provisions of Cabinet Resolution No. (19/5m) of 2022 regarding the mechanism of achieving yearly Emiratisation increase targets.

It stipulates that a 1 per cent Emiratisation increase should be completed before the end of June, with the yearly 2 per cent increase target to be achieved before the end of the year.
