Private hospitals in UAE can now resume elective surgeries and other wellbeing treatments that were previously suspended as a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19, effective Sunday.
The procedures include cosmetic surgeries and dental surgeries that can be done under local anesthesia. Physiotherapy and Chiropractic services can also resume.
A recent circular issued by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) states that private medical facilities will offer the services under the following strict Covid-19 safety guidelines:
- Committing to only 30% working capacity.
- All personnel should wear masks and gloves and protective equipment.
- Everybody must have their temperatures checked daily and staff must undergo PCR tests every week.
- Have floor stickers in waiting areas to ensure social distancing.
- Ensure that medical appointments do not lead to crowds.
- Patients must be told to not bring their children to the facilities unless they are the ones undergoing the procedures.
