Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways Launches Direct Flights to Boston

Etihad Airways has launched its first regular flight between Abu Dhabi and Boston, Emirates News Agency WAM reported. The inaugural Etihad flight EY147 was celebrated at Zayed International Airport before its departure.

Upon arrival in Massachusetts, Etihad Airways pilots waved the flags of the UAE and the US from the cockpit to mark the start of direct flights to the airline’s fourth destination, the US.

The new Boston service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays using Etihad’s latest Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft featuring popular business class cabins and economy smart seats.

Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves said the new flight route expands its reach across the US and enhances connections for travellers.

Ed Freeney, Interim CEO and Director of Aviation at Massachusetts Port Authority, operator of Boston Logan International Airport, welcomed Etihad to Boston and highlighted the importance of the new route in linking Boston and the UAE, according to WAM.

This makes Boston the airline’s fourth US destination after Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C.
