Abu Dhabi’s Yas Waterworld Announces Massive Expansion Plan

Abu Dhabi-based immersive destination creator Miral has announced an extensive expansion to Yas Island’s Yas Waterworld.

The 16,900 sqm expansion, set for completion in 2025, will introduce 3.3 km of slide sections, incorporating 18 new rides and attractions, propelling the park’s total offerings to over 60.

“This marks another addition to our world-class attractions on Yas Island, achieving our vision of positioning it as a top global destination for entertainment and leisure. We are proud to contribute to Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification and enhance its global appeal as a tourism hub,” Miral’s Group CEO, Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi said.

The expansion is set to feature the UAE’s highest slide and the GCC’s inaugural water park amusement ride integrated within a waterslide complex.

“This exhilarating ride promises an unparalleled adventure, with a 15-meter-high drop for up to 20 guests and water park enthusiasts, who can experience this adrenaline rush together,” Al Zaabi said.

Yas Waterworld, known for immersing guests in ‘The Legend of the Lost Pearl’ for the past decade, will introduce a new chapter called the ‘Lost City.’

Guests will embark on a journey to discover hidden treasures and secret passages, seamlessly blending with the park’s existing architectural style, rockwork features, and iconic characters.

The expansion’s features include a swim-up bar, high-thrill boat ride, racing and tube slides, family raft rides, and scaled-down versions of iconic rides for mini thrill-seekers.

Al Zaabi further highlighted Miral’s commitment to Yas Island’s growth and development as a leading global entertainment destination.

Yas Waterworld is part of Yas Island’s comprehensive offerings, including Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, CLYMB Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Watan, Yas Bay Waterfront, Etihad Arena, the world’s first Warner Bros. themed hotel, and the newly opened SeaWorld Yas Island.
