Bahrain amends press law, abolishes jailing journalists

Bahrain’s Cabinet on Monday amended its Press, Printing and Publishing Law, Bahraini daily Al-Ayyam reported.
The amendments included the abolition of jailing journalists and the addition of a major section regarding digital media.
The Cabinet also approved a memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the amendments of some provisions of the law to regulate press, printing and publishing.
