Bahrain: Ban on Indian movie ‘Monster’ lifted

Bahrain authorities have lifted a ban on Mohanlal starer ‘Monster’ after its makers trimmed 13 minutes of the film. The movie hit a roadblock when the Gulf countries, except UAE, banned the film over its content.

Following this, the makers reportedly submitted the film to Censor Board for re-evaluation. Latest reports say the movie will start screening in theatres here today.

“Monster ban lifted in Bahrain after 13 minutes are cut!” Local news dailies quoting Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai said. Reports say Mohanlal, who enjoys fandom pan-India, is in the role of a mystery man named Lucky Singh in this investigative thriller.

The film also marks Mohanlal’s reunion with the Pulimurugan writer-director duo Vysakh-Udaykrishna. The movie also stars Lakshmi Manchu, Siddique, Lena, Honey Rose, Sudev Nair, KB Ganesh Kumar and Johny Antony.
