First hotel in Bahrain to get a new lease of life soon
Bahrain Hotel, the first hotel in Bahrain, a valuable part of Bahrain’s tourism history, is all set to receive a new lease of life. Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities is looking forward to reviving the hotel by giving a complete makeover by joining hands with investors from the private sector.
Reports say construction of the facility began in the 1920s but opened doors to visitors only in 1950 due to delays in procuring construction materials from the UK following the Second World War. The hotel was built on Government avenue to house GCC and Arab leaders.
