The Bahrain Public Prosecution has concluded an investigation into a case of embezzlement by a public employee from a government entity.

The employee allegedly withheld and manipulated data related to embezzled funds within their workplace’s electronic system.

The investigation was based on a complaint filed by the Gulf Aviation Academy, which indicated a suspected criminal offence committed by the employee.

The employee embezzled a total of BD54,000 from trainees’ funds, intended for their employer.

The employee also manipulated data and information within their workplace’s electronic system with the intention of concealing his crime and erasing any evidence.

The Public Prosecution has referred the case to the Criminal Court, where the employee will face legal proceedings for their alleged embezzlement and manipulation of electronic records.

The charges highlight the seriousness of the offence, which includes financial misconduct, breach of trust, and abuse of authority.
