Oman Issues Clarification on Seized Agricultural Products From Al Sharqiyah South
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources issues a clarification on what is being circulated on social media about some agricultural products in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate.
The Directorate General of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate issued a clarification on what is being circulated on social media regarding the issue of agricultural seizures for a farm in the Wilayat of Al Kamil and Al Wafi announced on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
In its clarification, the Directorate stated that samples of various agricultural products were taken from several farms, including wheat and melon products, for analysis in the Ministry’s laboratory.
The results of laboratory analyzes of all samples confirmed their safety and suitability for human consumption, except for one sample of the hot pepper product, and in one farm, where the analyzes showed the presence of residual pesticides, and the product was kept inside the farm to complete the legal procedures in force in this regard.
The Directorate urged farmers to follow up on the workers on their farms and to hold them fully responsible in the event of violations.
