Oman: Attendance in government offices reduced to 50%
The attendance in government offices has been reduced to fifty per cent with effect from April 4. The staff not in attendance are required however to work remotely.
Believing the reason to be due to lack of proper COVID-19 compliant measures as well as non-adherence to prescribed regulations, the Supreme Committee has now decided till further notice that the remote learning online curriculum of classes would continue.
The ruling will take effect from April 4 Sunday.
The increase in the case numbers also prompted the authorities to put a stop to the community-level sports activities which takes effect from today, April 1.
Oman’s Supreme Committee has decided to suspend in-person attendance in schools, except for grade twelve students.
The Committee that regularly checks the epidemiology data and the course of spread of COVID-19 virus came to this decision to halt face-to-face classroom sessions after data revealed an increase in the number of registered cases among administrative and teaching staff.
Oman is also currently on a partial lockdown from 8pm till 5am that bans operations of commercial establishments as well human movement. Failure to comply will attract hefty penalties and fines.
Heavy round- the-clock patrolling by Royal Oman Police is currently on across the Sultanate.
