Entrepreneurship-themed reality television show and the region’s first private-public investment platform ‘Beban,’ produced by Hope Ventures, the investment arm of Hope Fund, has won the Kuwait Creativity Award in the Television Programmes category.
The award was presented at the 11th Arab Media Forum held in Kuwait.
Aymen bin Tawfiq Almoayed, Chairman of Hope Fund, emphasised that this regional achievement was accomplished as the result of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs’ steadfast belief in youth’s capabilities to invest their creative energies in supporting sustainable development.
Almoayed pointed to His Highness’ directives and unwavering support, which led to the production of the Beban TV show and its development across its seasons and the creation of a platform that supports investment on a regional scale.
“We are honored to receive this award for Beban, as it reaffirms our commitment to synthesising hope for promising entrepreneurs by facilitating co-investment opportunities alongside the private sector and providing them with the necessary resources and support to scale their businesses regionally. To all the ambitious forward-thinkers pursuing their entrepreneurial journeys, we invite you to seize opportunities and work towards telling your own most aspirational success stories.”
The show’s success in winning this award reflects its success as well as Hope Ventures’ in fulfilling its mission of facilitating opportunities and matchmaking promising entrepreneurs with strategic investors who can accelerate the growth of their businesses in new markets.
The award further highlights the effectiveness of private-public partnerships, as Beban is the region’s 1st private-public investment platform through its formed partnerships with Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (UAE), the SME Development Authority (Oman), GFH Capital (Saudi Arabia), Zain Kuwait and Sabah Al Ahmad Centre for Giftedness and Creativity (Kuwait), and the Labour Fund Tamkeen (Bahrain).
Beban currently airs its third season every Wednesday on Bahrain TV at 6 PM (+3GMT), Oman TV Cultural at 9:10 pm (+3GMT), AlRai TV at 9:30 pm (+3GMT), SBC Channel at 10 pm (+3GMT), Saturday at 5:30 pm (+3GMT) on Abu Dhabi TV, and on the region’s first and largest video-on-demand platform, Shahid, for free.
