Dubai Reveals New Passport Stamp as UAE Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi Comes Home

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs-Dubai (GDRFA), revealed this special passport stamp on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday.

Dubai Airports (DXB) has introduced a special passport stamp to celebrate the return of UAE astronaut Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi after his groundbreaking six-month space mission.

From September 18 to 19, passengers arriving at Dubai airports will find the slogan “The Return of the Hero Sultan Al Neyadi” stamped inside their passports, marking this historic occasion and celebrating the achievements of the Emirati astronaut.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs-Dubai (GDRFA), revealed this special passport stamp on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday.

This initiative was a collaborative effort with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), which had previously announced the date of Al Neyadi’s return to the UAE.

“Sending the first Emirati astronaut to space symbolises excellence and technological advancement in the UAE, reflecting our dedication to progress and significant contributions to space exploration for the benefit of humanity,” Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of GDRFA said in a statement.

“The GDRFA is committed to supporting national milestones, and we [are] truly proud of this new Emirati feat in the realm of space exploration,” he added.

UAE celebrates Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi’s homecoming

Al Neyadi’s return to the UAE marks a long-awaited homecoming after his historic mission in space.

A photograph of the astronaut, along with his travel companions, was shared on social media in front of the UAE aircraft that flew him back to his homeland.

Al Neyadi received a hero’s welcome upon his arrival, as he played a key role in inspiring a new generation of space enthusiasts during his mission.

Following his return to Earth on September 4, he was participating in a recovery programme in Houston, Texas, to re-adapt to gravity.

Al Neyadi is accompanied on his journey home by Hazza Al Mansouri, who made history as the first Emirati to travel to space in 2019.
