Bahrain’s First Almond Festival To Open on Saturday

Bahrain is gearing up for the first ever almond festival, which will open on Saturday at Bahraini Farmers’ Market site in the Budaiya Botanical Garden.

The festival will be open for visitors from 04:00 pm until 09:00 pm, said Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Mohammed Al Oraibi.

The assistant undersecretary announced that all preparations have been made for the 2023 edition of the festival to be launched.

The ministry is holding the event in partnership with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) and the Bahrain Agricultural Cooperative Society, he said, unveiling plans to organise the event annually.

The two-week festival will witness the participation of 15 farmers, 3 projects and productive families, and 4 restaurants of almond products, he added. The ministry will distribute a total of 1,000 almond seedlings on the sidelines of the festival, which will display also almond-based products.
