Dubai: Permit Required for All ‘Essential Purpose’ Travel
All members of the public in Dubai looking to leave their home for essential purposes must apply for a permit to do so.
People can apply for the movement permit on the new website or call the hotline 800737648 for enquiries.
Individuals are only allowed to leave their homes for essential purposes, such as buying food or medicine and getting medical assistance from healthcare service providers including hospitals, clinics and pharmacies.
In line with measures to fight the pandemic, the UAE government announced that all individuals leaving the house must wear a mask and gloves, and ensure they keep a safe distance from others.
Those who commute to work – and included in one of the exempt sectors – must get a letter from their employer, stating their movement to and from work.
The punishment for anyone violating the restrictions will face stringent legal action including hefty fines and jail time.
