Dubai International Airport (DXB) has strongly advised passengers not to come to the airport “unless absolutely necessary” due to major operational disruptions caused by severe weather conditions.
“Flooding and road blockages have left limited transport options for arriving and departing guests,” DXB said in a statement early Wednesday.
⚠️We advise you NOT to come to the airport, unless absolutely necessary.Flights continue to be delayed and diverted. Please check your flight status directly with your airline. We are working hard to recover operations as quickly as possible in very challenging conditions.

This comes after the UAE saw the heaviest rainfall in 75 years, leading to major flooding and several flight cancellations.
The airport, one of the region’s major travel hubs, is experiencing delayed, diverted, and cancelled flights as heavy rainfall has flooded roads and halted ground transportation in Dubai. Displaced flight crews have also impacted flight operations and the airport stated that recovery efforts will take significant time.
Passengers were urged to check their flight status directly with airlines before considering travel to the airport. The airport acknowledged that flights continue to be delayed and diverted due to the challenging weather conditions.
Emergency response teams are working hard to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
“We strongly urge you to check your flight status with your airline before coming to the airport and allow extra travel time,” DXB said.
“Recovery will take some time. We thank you for your patience and understanding while we work through these challenges.”
