Jordan’s Minister of Health, Nathir Obeidat, resigned on Saturday after six Covid-19 patients died in a government hospital when oxygen supplies were cut off for about an hour.
The oxygen system at the Salt General Hospital suffered an outage, according to Jordanian media reports.
The Minister of Health is currently holding a meeting with officials in the hospital to determine what caused the system failure, local media reported.
The investigation will be transparent and comprehensive, and all its details will be made public, Prime Minister, Bisher al-Khasawneh, said.
Everyone who is responsible for the failure will bear the consequences in accordance with the provisions of the law, he added.
