Kuwait: Coast Guards Seize Illicit Drugs, Arrest 8 Suspects

The Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday that the General Directorate of the Coast Guard was able to arrest eight suspects who tried to smuggle about 100 kilograms of methamphetamine into the country by sea, with a market value of KD 2 million (about $6.5 million).

The General Department of Relations and Security Media said in a press statement that it received information about a ship that had arrived in Kuwait and was loaded with narcotic substances. Security operatives were immediately formed, and after an investigation, they seized the vessel.
