Kuwaiti Sentenced to Prison for Assault and Vehicle Damage

The Court of Appeals sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to six months in prison with hard labour for hitting another citizen in front of his wife on a public road as well as crashing into his vehicle and damaging it. The court acquitted the second defendant and his brother from charges of beating the first defendant because one of them did not allow the other the right of way.

The first and second defendants were charged with fighting, each causing the other the injuries described in the medical report, and intentional damage to properties with the intent to cause harm. The first defendant caused damage to the second defendant’s vehicle, and the second defendant caused damage to the first defendant’s vehicle.

The third defendant, who is the brother of the first defendant, was also charged with threatening the first defendant with the intention of preventing him from filing a complaint against his brother.

During the court session, Lawyer Muhammad Al-Sayegh, who was representing the second defendant and his third brother, argued that the first defendant’s statements were unreasonable and that the documents lacked evidence of the validity of the accusation.

He urged the court to acquit his clients of the charges and to convict the first defendant in accordance with the law.
