Expats living in the Sultanate of Oman, who are aged above 60, will be able to renew their work permits and seek employment in the private sector, based on a circular issued by the Ministry of Labour, which seeks to abolish the age cap of 60 years currently in force.
The decision has been taken in view of the current state of the private sector and the large number of requests for exceptions to renew licenses to bring in expat manpower over the age of 60.
