Over 60 Expats Arrested in Oman

As part of an inspection campaign carried out by the Ministry of Labour (Mol) in the Wilayat of Barka, South Al Batinah Governorate, more than 60 expats have been arrested for violating various aspects of Oman’s Labour Laws.

The Ministry of Labour (Mol), said in a statement: “With the aim of following up on the expat workforce and the extent of their commitment to the provisions of the Labour Laws and the regulations and decisions issued, and in continuation of efforts to combat the phenomenon of indiscriminate selling practiced by the expat  workforce in the Wilayat of Barka in the South Al Batinah Governorate, the Ministry of Labour, represented by the General Directorate of Labour Welfare, carried out an inspection campaign with the support of the inspection unit of the Foundation Security and safety services.  During the inspection 66 workers were found violating the provisions of the Labour Laws. Legal measures are being taken against them.”
