Riyadh Air Set To Announce Major Plane Order: Reports
Riyadh Air is preparing to announce a major deal to acquire narrowbody aircraft in the near future, according to media reports.
Reuters quotes the new Saudi airline’s chief executive Tony Douglas as saying the airline would purchase a “sizeable” number of narrowbody planes.
Earlier this year the airline announced an order of up to 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner planes in a multi-billion-dollar deal.
Details of the number of planes ordered were not given at this stage, but the deal was said to be a “clear signal of intent”.
Speculation is rising that the order could be officially announced during the Dubai Airshow 2023, between November 13 and 17.
The airline will operate from the Saudi capital and aims to connect travellers from around the world to more than 100 destinations by 2030.
