Saudi Arabia Announces New 2030 Masterplan

Saudi Arabia, to achieve its Vision 2030, has announced plans to establish 59 logistics zones by 2030.

The announcement was made at a reception held in London by the Saudi Transport General Authority, with key figures such as the Saudi Ambassador to the UK Prince Khalid Bn Bandar Bin Sultan and Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Dr Rumaih Al Rumaih, in attendance.

Prince Khalid highlighted the country’s dedication to realising Vision 2030 and emphasised the importance of recent developments in the maritime sector. He also praised the progress made in logistics services and the Kingdom’s support for the marine environment.

Dr. Al Rumaih, outlining the plans for the logistics zones, stated, “Our aim by 2030 is to be among the top ten countries in the Logistics Performance Index.” He also revealed plans to increase port capacity to more than 40 million containers.

Moreover, Dr. Al Rumaih announced the Maritime Industry Sustainability Conference, scheduled for September 4-6, 2023.
