The Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) has announced that its electronic system will be suspended between January 19 and February 3, to ensure the smooth transition to the new electronic system “Taminat” on February 4th.

The move aims to keep pace with the requirements of the electronic transformation of government services.

According to SIO, inquiry services and printing certificates will continue uninterrupted during the temporary suspension period while other services will be suspended whether through electronic channels or direct channels at reception centres. These include payment through SIO.GOV.BH, payment through the cashier section at the main branch of SIO and, payment through the “Al-Tajir” app, payment by direct debit using Debit Card.

The provision of payment services through BBK and Ahli United Bank, as well as by Credit Cards will be discontinued, SIO said, adding that the direct debit services from bank accounts will be postponed from January 19 to February 3.

The Bahrain Post credit score invoice service will be permanently suspended as of January 19, SIO added.

In addition, the deadline for updating annual salaries for all employees will be extended from February 14 to February 28, while the deadline for updating the annual salaries for the optionally insured for the year 2024, will be extended from January 31 to February 15.
