Saudi: Crown Prince Reveals Ambitious Masterplan for Luxury Mountain Tourism Destination

In a grand unveiling, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, who also serves as chairman of Soudah Development, has officially launched the masterplan for the transformation of Soudah and portions of Rijal Almaa into the magnificent Soudah Peaks.

This luxurious mountain tourism destination will be perched 3,015 meters above sea level, nestled atop Saudi Arabia’s highest peak.

Located amidst the extraordinary natural and cultural wonders of the Aseer region in southwest Saudi Arabia, this project stands as a pivotal component of the Public Investment Fund (PIF)’s tireless endeavours to diversify the nation’s economy.

It seeks to achieve this by expanding critical sectors such as tourism, hospitality, and entertainment, all while bolstering the Aseer development strategy.

During the unveiling on Monday, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman emphasized that Soudah Peaks signifies a new era in luxury mountain tourism.

It aims to offer an unparalleled living experience while simultaneously preserving the region’s natural environment and celebrating its cultural and heritage richness.

Importantly, this ambitious project aligns strategically with the goals outlined in Vision 2030, focusing on expanding tourism and entertainment, fueling economic growth, attracting investments, contributing over SR29 billion to the Kingdom’s cumulative GDP, and generating numerous direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman asserted, “Soudah Peaks will be a transformative addition to Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector, firmly placing the Kingdom on the global tourism map.”

Soudah Peaks sets a lofty goal of delivering top-tier, luxurious hospitality services to over two million visitors annually by the year 2033.

The masterplan is artfully designed to showcase the region’s traditional architectural styles while promoting the rich cultural and landscape heritage.

The destination will comprise six distinctive development zones: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Jareen, Rijal, and Red Rock.

Each zone will offer an array of world-class amenities, including hotels, luxury mountain resorts, residential chalets, villas, premium mansion sites, entertainment and commercial attractions, as well as outdoor activities catering to sports, adventure, wellness, and culture.

By 2033, Soudah Development aims to deliver 2,700 hospitality keys, 1,336 residential units, and 80,000 square meters of commercial space for Soudah Peaks.

This monumental project will unfold in three phases, with the completion of 940 hotel keys, 391 residential units, and 32,000 square meters of retail space anticipated in phase one by 2027.

Spanning over 627 square kilometres of awe-inspiring natural beauty, Soudah Peaks’ development footprint represents less than 1% of the total land area.
