Disgusting Moment It Rains White WORMS in India

This is the disgusting moment thousands of white worms appeared to rain down from the sky, covering the road in a thick layer of bugs. The worms hailed down like confetti in a scene of biblical proportions that looked like it could have been one of Exodus’s Plagues of Egypt.

Retch-inducing footage shows the bugs whirling around and floating down to the ground in Bihar, an East India state bordering Nepal, on Tuesday. The unidentified critters were seen carpeting the road as disturbed locals watched one while others closed their doors in fear.

It is still unknown what caused the spaghetti-like creatures to rain down, or where the worms even came from. Amid the disgusting scenes, many locals reportedly closed their shopfronts in horror to protect themselves from the mini worm plague. Local media reported that no one was harmed following the repulsive incident. This is not the first time that worm-like creatures have appeared to rain down from the sky like a bizarre biblical plague.

In Norway in 2015, thousands of live earthworms fall from the sky in a rare phenomenon across large swathes of the south of the country. Reports came in from across the region following numerous sightings of worm rainfalls. Another incident in Liaoning Province in China in March appeared to show what looked like earthworms raining down from the sky.

Residents were subsequently warned to carry umbrellas to protect themselves from the wiggly creatures. Videos circulated online showing the supposed creepy crawlies covering cars and carpeting the streets.

After amassing more than 18 million views online, eagle-eyed watchers pointed out that the ‘rain of worms’ more likely showed catkins, or flower spikes, from poplar trees in the region instead. But China’s Liaoning Province was also subject to another biblical scene when a plague of toads was filmed swarming a pathway and making the ground look like it was moving.

Hopping in their hundreds, the toads – all relatively small in size – escaped from a nearby lake. In the short clip, people can be seen attempting to negotiate around the toads as they jump in every direction.
