Dubai Airshow Sees Order Deals for 206 Commercial Aircraft on First Day

The Dubai Airshow saw order deals for 206 commercial aircraft signed on the first day.

The first day also witnessed tentative deals for purchase options for another 45 aircraft.

Emirates Airline and flydubai accounted for more than 60 percent of the confirmed orders, with 95 aircraft for Emirates Airline and 30 aircraft for flydubai.

Flydubai and the American company Boeing also announced a deal in which Flydubai committed to purchasing 30 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a total value of up to $11 billion.

Sun Express, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, announced an order to purchase 45 737 MAX aircraft, with options and rights to purchase 45 other aircraft of the same type.

Royal Jordanian Airlines announced placing a repeated order to purchase a 787 Dreamliner, and confirmed the order for two 787-9 aircraft from the US plane maker Boeing.

Boeing and Royal Jordanian also announced deals to purchase four 28 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
