Bahrain: 59 Health Workers Infected with COVID-19, 40 Recover

Since Bahrain reported the first confirmed coronavirus case in February, a total of 59 medical personnel have tested positive for the virus while working in the front line of the battle against the pandemic, Health Ministry’s Public Health Director Dr Najat Abu Al Fateh said.

Of the 59, 33 cases are health personnel and 26 fall under support specializations such as maintenance workers and other staff.

40 of these cases have so recovered so far, while 19 cases remain active and in a stable condition.

The Public Health teams concerned with tracing and determining the source of infection confirmed that the sources of most recorded cases were from outside work sites or health facilities.
