Bahrain: Attempt to smuggle amphetamine pills foiled

An attempt to smuggle two parcels containing 39,070 amphetamine pills (Captagon pills) was foiled.

The anti-narcotic police at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence coordinated the operation with the Customs Affairs and the Saudi General Directorate of Narcotics Control.

The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence notified the Public Prosecution about the parcels which were seized at the Bahrain International Airport.

The authorities in Bahrain then allowed the parcels to be sent to Saudi Arabia in a security-controlled operation.

Two people in charge of receiving the parcels were then arrested in Riyadh
