Bahrain: Waste Recycling Exhibition Opened at Seef Mall

The Minister of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning, Engineer Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf, has launched the “Waste Recycling Exhibition”, which aims to support initiatives aimed at disposal of waste in a manner that takes into account environmental safety, as well as to educate the community about its role in waste sorting and recycling in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development and the national strategy for the waste management in Bahrain.

The exhibition, organized by the Estidama Center at the Ministry of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning, and is held at Seef Mall to showcase the latest technologies and ideas related to recycling of waste recycled materials.

The exhibition, which will be open to the public on Friday and Saturday, consists of several awareness sections, the most important of which are the recycling workshops, the recycling market, live shows and a children’s corner. The exhibition, which lasts for 3 days, contains recycled materials like tires, wood and plastic materials.

The Minister emphasized on the implementation of the national waste management strategy which is planned to contribute to addressing the problem of waste management in the long run.
