The UAE Air Accidents Investigation Sector at the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has reported a helicopter crash incident involving a Bell212 helicopter belonging to Aerogulf.

The helicopter, bearing the registration mark A6-ALD, was on a night training flight with two pilots, one Egyptian and one South African, on board.

The incident occurred on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at around 8:30 PM, shortly after takeoff from Al Maktoum International Airport.

In a statement by WAM, the sector disclosed that search and rescue teams have successfully recovered the wreckage of the crashed helicopter.

However, the search operation is still ongoing to locate the missing crew members. The air accident investigation team has been swiftly dispatched to the crash site to begin their inquiry into the incident.
