COVID-19: Saudi Arabia ends overtime work for healthcare workers
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has issued a decision not to assign overtime work related to combating the novel coronavirus infection for all employees.
A circular mentioned the importance of carrying out the tasks during work hours, and that schedules should be prepared in a manner ensuring continuity of services.
In the event of an urgent and pressing need to assign some workers, and in the narrowest scope, a request for assignment should be sent to the Overtime Allowance Committee for Countering the Coronavirus Pandemic, formed according to the decision of the Minister of Health issued on June 1, 2020, corresponding to Shawwal 9, 1441H.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health recently announced the closure of some departments meant to cater for people who contracted the novel coronavirus COVID-19 infection, in some health facilities of Al-Kharj, as they are no longer needed.
In this regard, the ministry confirmed the closure of three departments in King Khalid Hospital and Prince Sultan Center for Health Services in Al-Kharj. Also, King Salman Hospital in Riyadh had recently announced the departure of the last patient infected with the novel coronavirus, after recovering.
