In a disturbing case of deception and fraud, a 42-year-old man has been accused of stealing a car from his friend’s family under the guise of a medical emergency.
According to the details, the victim, a 30-year-old woman, had purchased a car in 2013.
She later lent the vehicle to her father, who in turn passed it onto the accused in 2020 so he could use it to transport his cancer-stricken mother to the hospital.
However, after receiving the car, he sold it by forging the car owner’s signature, which resulted in him using its value.

In 2020, her father gave the car to the 42-year-old accused so he could use it to take his mother, who was suffering from cancer, to the hospital.
However, as soon as he received the vehicle, the accused kept it and did not return it.
He sold the car without the permission or consent of the original owner, the victim.
The accused forged the victim’s signature on the ownership transfer form at the General Traffic Department and used her identity card.
The accused went to the car repair shop and offered to sell the car to the worker there, who then directed him to a scrapyard owner to sell the car.
The scrapyard owner inspected the car and agreed to buy it for BD1,100.
The worker at the repair shop then got a transaction broker involved to handle the ownership transfer paperwork.
The accused told the scrapyard owner that the car belonged to his mother, and he wanted to sell it. Based on this, the accused was able to sell the victim’s car and use the money for himself
