India: Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan, son Abhishek test positive for COVID-19
Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have tested positive for COVID-19 and have been admitted to the Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai.
In a tweet, the 77-year old actor informed that he has tested COVID positive and his family and staff have also undergone the tests. Their results are awaited, he added.
His son and Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan also confirmed the news on twitter.
Senior Bachchan was last seen in Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo with Ayushmann Khurrana. The film was premiered on Amazon Prime Video instead of theaters due to coronavirus pandemic.
The senior actor had recently shot promotional content for the famous quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, which he hosts. Prayers for his speedy recovery started pouring in as soon as the news was confirmed. Bollywood celebrities, politicians, cricketers and other famous personalities took it to social media wishing Bachchan for a speedy recovery.
