India: Baby Born With 14 Fingers and 12 Toes Hailed as Reincarnation of Hindu Goddess

The baby girl in India, born with an unusual condition of having 26 fingers and toes, has been hailed as the reincarnation of a Hindu goddess by her parents. Born in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, the baby has seven fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot.

While medical professionals attribute this to a genetic anomaly, the family is overjoyed and publicly refers to her as the rebirth of Dholagarh Devi, a revered local deity whose temple is situated close to the baby’s birthplace.

Statues of the deity depict a young girl adorned with multiple arms. The mother, Sarju Devi, 25, is said to be overjoyed after giving birth. Her brother stated to local media that “My sister has given birth to a baby with 26 fingers, and we believe it to be the incarnation of Dholagarh Devi. We couldn’t be happier.”

The birth of the baby girl with 26 fingers has brought joy to her father, Gopal Bhattacharya, who serves as a police constable in the Central Reserve Police Force. Doctors at the hospital where she was born have confirmed that the additional digits pose no harm to her health.

While it remains uncertain whether the family plans to pursue surgery to reduce the number of fingers on each limb, this news follows a recent incident on a flight where a traveler shocked fellow passengers by revealing an extra toe.

The shoeless man’s TikTok video created a sensation online, amassing a massive 8.1 million views and attracting over 14,000 comments. Most of the comments were lighthearted jabs at the unusual clip, reigniting the ongoing debate about the acceptability of going barefoot in public.

As the camera zoomed in on the foot of the fellow traveler, it eventually panned out to capture the spectacle of the plane taking off through the window.

One commenter humorously quipped, “Flying out of Torontoe,” while another playfully added, “you know he’s not lack toes intolerant.”
