Man arrested for abusing Bahrain Government Employee
Showering a municipal employee with abuse while at work and defaming the official, who was executing an order to remove violations on a property, on social media platforms landed a man in jail for three months.
During the hearing, the defendant rejected the charges filed against him but agreed that he was aware of the deadline. When asked about the video that he had posted claiming that the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Urban planning employees attacked and sabotaged his house without a warrant, he said the purpose of the filming was to prove the case and ensure his legal right.
The Prosecution referred the case to the Lower Criminal Court, which punished him with three months of imprisonment and set a bail of 200 dinars to suspend it, pending his appeal.
