Saudi Arabia Removes 6MN Pieces of Extremist Content

Telegram and Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal) in Saudi Arabia have revealed the collaborative removal of 6,004,218 extremist content pieces and the closure of 1,840 channels belonging to ISIS, Al Qaeda and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, between January 1 and March 30.

The activity of three terrorist organisations was identified and monitored on Telegram by Etidal and discovered 2,773,902 pieces with extremist content on 477 channels belonging to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, 1,807,215 ISIS extremist content pieces on 1,040 channels and 1,423,101 pieces by Al Qaeda on 323 channels.

During the first quarter of 2023, #Etidal and @telegram removed 6 million pieces of extremist content from ISIS, al-Qaeda, and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham organizations, and closed 1,840 channels that were spreading and promoting extremist ideologies.
