In an impressive showcase of talent and hard work, Saudi students Fatima Buali and Retaj Al-Saleh achieved notable success at the 2024 European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) held in Georgia.
Fatima Buali, hailing from Al-Ahsa City, clinched a bronze medal, while Retaj Al-Saleh from the Eastern Region received an honourable mention.
Their participation was the result of rigorous selection and training by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
This year, the competition drew 212 students from 54 countries, highlighting the global scale of the event.
Saudi Arabia’s continued participation in EGMO has been fruitful, with a tally that includes two gold medals, six silver medals, thirteen bronze medals, and seven honourable mentions over 12 participations.
