Sudan: Armed Group Storms Saudi Cultural Attaché Building in Khartoum

An armed group stormed the Saudi Cultural Attaché building in the Sudanese capital Khartoum Tuesday morning, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the ministry statement, the armed group vandalized equipment and cameras, seized some of the attaché’s possessions, and disabled its systems and servers.

Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the ransacking and called for ensuring respect for diplomatic missions for punishing the perpetrators.

The Kingdom renewed its call to halt military escalation in Sudan, end the violence, and provide necessary protection for diplomats and civilians.
