UAE allows return of unvaccinated residents from certain categories

According to the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority, unvaccinated residents from certain categories can return to the UAE from August 5 with prior approval from the ICA.

The authorities said that those allowed to enter the country include: medical workers, teachers at schools and universities, students, residents with extenuating circumstances, patients undergoing medical treatment in the UAE and employees who work for federal or local government agencies.

These categories are required to submit a request on the website of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship to obtain the necessary approval.

They must present a prior negative COVID-19 PCR test within 48 hours of the time of departure. The tests must be conducted by accredited laboratories and carry a QR Code.

A quick PCR test before boarding the plane will apply, in addition to applying the precautionary and preventive measures upon arrival, including quarantine and a PCR test.
