UAE: Ajman announces permanent remote working for government staff

Ajman has approved a remote working system permanently for government employees.

The system will be applied to all local government agencies. Employees on probation and those who require to be physically present in their offices for work will not be part of the e-work system.

There are two types of remote working. The first requires employees to work 100 per cent from outside the office. The second employs a partial remote working system, where employees report to office on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.

Each government entity has been given the option to choose the e-system that works best for them.

As the COVID-19 pandemic hit, federal and local government entities had shut offices to curb the virus spread, but continued offering services online efficiently. Most of the offices have reopened.
