Around 26 judges infected with coronavirus in Kuwait

Twenty-six judges in Kuwait have contracted the coronavirus, Al Qabas newspaper has reported, citing an unidentified source.

The infections come days after 10 Kuwaiti lawmakers reportedly caught the virus. Some of the infected judges caught the virus after coming in touch with other patients, according to the source.

ā€œThese infections will not hamper court hearings, but may delay them because the judge delegated to offset the shortage has other sessions and needs longer time to hold two sessions in the same day,ā€ the source said.

The source, described as well-informed, called on the Health Ministry to conduct virus-detecting swabs on other judges to get reassured about their well-being.
