Bahrain: Rotary Club of Salmaniya Celebrates 53 Years of Service

The Rotary Club of Salmaniya recently celebrated its 53rd anniversary, marking over five decades of service and community contribution in Bahrain. Sahar bint Rashed Almannai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, attended the event representing Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, Minister of Social Development for Bahrain.

The celebration saw the attendance of ambassadors, district officials, and government representatives and was inaugurated by Khalid AlQoud, President of the club, who welcomed guests and members of the Rotary Club of Salmaniya, RCSB, RCM, and Rotaracts of Bahrain and Muharraq.

Club President, Khalid AlQoud highlighted the club’s history of commitment and service to the community in his opening remarks, praising the work done to “extend their reach beyond borders”.

Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor was presented with the Distinguished Leader Award which was accepted by Sahar bint Rashed Almannai on his behalf, to recognized his leadership and dedication to the development and welfare of the community in Bahrain.

The event also featured a panel discussion with two esteemed speakers including Abdulnabi AlShoala, honorary member of the Rotary Club of Salmaniya, founder and adviser to the board of AlFanar Investment Holding, and Dr. Dhafer Alumran, a distinguished member of the club.

In addition to the panel discussion, special awards were presented to individuals for their contributions to the Rotary Club of Salmaniya:

  • The Distinguished Leader Award to Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, Minister of Social Development for the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Honorary Membership Award to Mohamed Salahuddin for his achievements and leadership.
  • Rotarian of the Year Award to Luai Al Agha for his commitment and dedication to community development during the year.
  • Special Recognition to Abdulrahim AlSayed, General Manager of the Golden Tulip Hotel in Bahrain, for his support for the Rotary Club of Salmaniya over the years.

The evening concluded with expressions of gratitude to all supporters and participants.
