Oman: No risk of tsunami following earthquake in Southern Iraq

There is no tsunami threat after a 5.8 magnitude earthquake happened in the Arabian sea near the Strait of Hormuz, southern Iran, Oman Meteorology officials say.

The incident happened on Friday and was recorded 132km away from Khasab.

“No potential of tsunami due to the earthquake that occurred in the Arabian Gulf near the Strait of Hormuz, southern Iran, with magnitude of 5.8 at depth of 84 km at 1:31 am local time,” Oman Met said.
