Bahrain announces 997 new coronavirus cases, 6 deaths

Out of 16033 COVID-19 tests carried out on 18 April 2021, 997 new cases have been detected in Bahrain.

Among the cases are of 361 expatriate workers, 581 contacts of active cases, and 55 travel related. There were 1075 recoveries, increasing total to 152361.

There are currently 92 cases in a critical condition, and 149 cases receiving treatment. 11063 are stable out of a total of 11155 active cases.

There were six deaths recorded: a Bahraini man (74), three Bahraini women (80, 54 & 73), an expat man (37) and an expat woman (49). This took the total number of fatalities to 594. No information was provided if they suffered any preexisting medical conditions.
