Bahrain: Police Nab Five In Social Media Fraud Bust

Police arrested five Asian nationals for their involvement in running fraudulent schemes on social media channels, yesterday.

The arrests were made in a series of swift operations conducted jointly by the Northern Governorate and Muharraq Police Directorates.

The suspects allegedly lured unsuspecting buyers with enticing offers of phones and electronic devices at significantly reduced prices.

However, after securing payment, the victims received either completely different items or empty boxes. Upon receiving multiple complaints, the police launched an immediate investigation.

Through diligent efforts, officers gathered crucial information and evidence, leading to the identification and arrest of the suspects.

The suspects are now facing legal proceedings, with preparations underway to refer them to the Public Prosecution.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
