Bahrain: Expat jailed 10 years for providing fake visas

The High Criminal Court sentenced a man to 10 years in prison for fraud and ordered his deportation from the country after serving his term. The defendant is suspected of defrauding a resident of BD400 by convincing him that he could acquire five permits for his family members.

It was discovered that the permits were fake, and he was arrested after the resident filed a case against him. The resident saw an advertisement on Facebook in which the defendant claimed that he could obtain visas for those who wish to visit and stay in Bahrain.

He called him, and he received the documents within a few hours. The plaintiff’s family members who applied to visit Bahrain were rejected because their visas were deemed to be invalid. Meanwhile, security investigations revealed that the accused had previously been involved in criminal cases and was wanted for fraud.
