Saudi thwarts attempt to smuggle 1.6M Captagon pills

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Jeddah Islamic Port has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1.6 million Captagon pills, found hidden in a caravan shipment intended for trips.

The caravan was subject to customs procedures and was examined through a security process at the port, when the authorities found a large quantity of Captagon pills hidden in a technical way inside the cavity of the floor of the caravan trailer, adding that upon completion of the seizure.

The authority coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the pills in the Kingdom, which resulted in the arrest of three persons.
