A citizen was arrested for possessing more than 2,600 Captagon tablets and a quantity of crystal drug for the purpose of trafficking in South Al Batinah Governorate. Royal Oman Police (ROP) said in a statement :”The South Al Batinah Governorate Police Command arrested a citizen in possession of more than 2,600 Captagon tablets and a quantity of crystal drug for the purpose of trafficking. The legal procedures are being completed against him.” In another incident: Three arrested in possession of drugs in Dhofar ROP said in a statement: “Coast Guard police boats led by the Dhofar Governorate Police seized a boat carrying 3 infiltrators of Arab nationality and in possession of more than 1,050 packages of the khat drug. The legal procedures are being completed against them.”

It’s the second consecutive time the Muscat-based airline has taken the top spot, having scored 91.3 per cent during 2022. Four people were arrested while trying to smuggle about 100 kilogrammes of drugs to the Sultanate of Oman. The Royal Oman Police (ROP) said: “The Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Department, led by the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate Police, in cooperation with the Coast Guard Police, arrested four people of Asian nationality while trying to smuggle 50 kilograms of crystal meth and 49 kilograms of hashish, and completed legal procedures.”

Omani officials have laid out plans for the development of the Middle East’s first spaceport, which they hope will be operational by 2030. The commercial spaceport, called Etlaq, is designed to host all sizes of launch vehicles in the port town of Duqm, and would meet US Federal Aviation Administration standards to attract international launch companies. The National Aerospace Services Company (Nascom), which is overseeing the spaceport, unveiled its plans at the Middle East Space Conference in Muscat, more than a year after initially announcing the project. A statement issued online by Oman Customs read: “The General Administration of Customs was able to seize a truck at Hafeet port loaded with wireless drones coming by transit system from the United Arab Emirates heading to the Republic of Yemen.” “Customs inspectors were able to discover the shipments that were hidden professionally in places specially prepared for smuggling them in the truck.
