Major Abu Dhabi Road Closures for UAE Tour 2024 on Saturday

Major roads across Abu Dhabi will be temporarily closed as the UAE Tour cycle race passes through the city on Saturday.

Organisers and the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) have told motorists in the city to expect road closures as the cycling event takes to roads in the emirate.

The rolling road closures in Abu Dhabi are likely to be in place between 1pm and 4.30pm, and the ITC has urged road users to drive cautiously and abide by traffic rules and regulations.

UAE Tour 2024 in Abu Dhabi on Saturday

The UAE Tour is organised by Abu Dhabi Sports Council and takes place from 19 to 25 February. The one and only UCI WorldTour race in the Middle East features many of the world’s best cyclists.

Saturday’s stage sets off from the Louvre Abu Dhabi where the first part of the route heads to Saadiyat Island and then to Yas Marina where the race continues westwards before re-entering the city through Khalifa City.

After returning to the city, cyclists will pass over Al Reem Island (Sorbonne University) and Al Maryah Island.

Passing Qasr Al Hosn, the riders will approach the finale from the south to the north to finish at Abu Dhabi Breakwater.

The road closures will be in phases of five to 20 minutes:

• Phase 1: 1-1.15pm from the Louvre across Saadiyat Island
• Phase 2: 1.15-1.35pm through Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Road
• Phase 3: 1.35-1.40pm through Yas Island
• Phase 4: 1.40-1.45pm on Al Maha Street
• Phase 5: 1.45-2pm on Al Raha Street    
• Phase 6: 2-2.15pm on Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street      
• Phase 7: 2.15-2.30pm     
• Phase 8: 2.30-2.45pm in Masdar City and Khalifa City    
• Phase 9: 2.45-2.50pm
• Phase 10: 2.50-3pm      
• Phase 11: 3-3.10pm on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street
• Phase 12: 3.10-3.20pm on Um Yifeenah Street   
• Phase 13: 3.20 – 3.30pm on Reem Island    
• Phase 14: 3.30-3.40pm on Zayed the First Street    
• Phase 15: 3.40-3.45pm on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street       
• Phase 16: 3.45-4.10pm    
• Phase 17: 4.10-4.30pm from Al Bateen Street to Marina Mall
