Oman: Coronavirus Testing Begins for Expats in Muscat

Oman’s Health Ministry has begun laboratory testing of the coronavirus (COVID-19) for those residents who show symptoms of the disease.

“The tests will be conducted daily from 9 am till 1 pm, except for Friday, next to the Madinah Holiday Hotel in the area of Ghala in the wilayat of Bawshar.” said a statement.

Authorities had previously announced that coronavirus treatment would be provided free of charge to expatriates as well and that they would not be required to produce a residence card.

Muscat Municipality has also implemented a field campaign to examine expat workers in restaurants and fast food cafes by using a thermal inspection device.
